How to remove and restore team members

How to remove a team member's access and how to restore them if needed.

Owners and Admins can remove team members to revoke their access, and restore them later if needed. Here's how both processes work.

Removing an active member

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Team and click on the member you want to remove.

  2. In the detail panel, select "Remove" from the actions menu.

  3. Confirm the action in the dialog. This will revoke all access and permissions immediately.

The member's status will change to Removed (shown with a red indicator). They will no longer be able to access any part of the workspace.

Revoking a pending invite

If a member hasn't yet accepted their invitation, you can cancel it:

  1. Click on the invited member in the Team page.

  2. Select "Remove invite" from the actions menu.

  3. Confirm. The invite is cancelled and the member is removed from the list.

You can also resend an invite from the same menu if it expired (invitations are valid for 5 days).

What removed members see

When a removed member logs in, they'll see a screen confirming their access has been revoked, including when they were removed and by whom. They can contact their admin or Incard support from that screen.

Restoring a removed member

Removed members are kept in the team list for compliance purposes. To restore one:

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Team and click on the removed member.

  2. In the detail panel, click "Restore access".

  3. Confirm. The member is restored with their previous role and permissions.

You can also change their role after restoring them.

Restore via re-invite

If you try to invite someone whose email matches a previously removed member, Incard will prompt you to restore their account instead. You cannot create a duplicate invite β€” the restore flow lets you reinstate them and optionally assign a new role.
